     5. AUDIOVISUAL SEQUENCING USING LIVE AND VJAMM

Returning to the Live song that was used earlier to make your audio mix, open options/preferences/midi/sync to set up the midi devices. With midi loop back it is important not to create a feedback loop as this will take up resources and whole thing will grind to a halt. Set up the loop back so the 1st half are output devices and the 2nd half are inputs (1-4 and 5-8 in this case):

Set up themidi channels to output to loop device 1 and channel 1 (A) then make midi clips that correspond, in length and whether loop is active to mirror each audio section (B). The midi note each is on should correspond to the clip slot in VJamm that the equivalent AV clip is in (VJamm uses white notes from C2 – D4 for the clip slots Q – K as shown in red on the VJamm thumbnails). In my mix we can see that people hold on chorus is in VJamm slot J (C) – which is note B3 and is a loop which is 8 bars long just like the audio. (D) We can now play the mix by triggering scenes in Live which in turn will trigger the video in VJamm giving us a live AV mix! (E)
